The Aruba Aquatics Federation is ushering in a new era focused on transparency, good governance, and inclusivity. The Aruba Aquatics Federation new Strategic Vision aims to achieve these goals. The new board has taken the reins with a clear vision for the next four years. Emphasizing strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, the leadership is committed to driving positive change and ensuring that every member of the aquatic community receives a fair chance to thrive.

  • Elementary Swimming

A technical commission for Open Water and Artistic disciplines has already been established. Work is underway to form a similar commission for Swimming, aiming to align local practices with international standards and to make sure all of our national and international athletes are supported in the best way possible.

A major step towards promoting transparency and inclusivity has been the revision of qualifying criteria for CARIFTA. The board is now working on updating the criteria for the entire season, ensuring that all athletes and stakeholders clearly understand the benchmarks for success. All criteria are discussed and decided upon together with the coaches of each club to ensure fair play and inclusivity for all. In addition, an informative meeting was held for the qualified swimmers and their parents regarding CARIFTA Games participation. This initiative reflects the federation’s commitment to transparency, fairness and excellence in sport.

Recognizing that effective change starts at the grassroots, the board has initiated discussions with club presidents. These meetings are designed to gather insights on visions, concerns, and expectations, which will shape the federation’s strategy moving forward.

At the heart of the new board’s agenda are three core principles:

  • Good Governance: Adhering to the highest ethical standards in all operations.
  • Transparency: Keeping all stakeholders informed and involved in decision-making processes.
  • Inclusivity: Creating opportunities for every athlete, regardless of background or experience.

These principles guide every initiative, ensuring that the federation not only meets but exceeds expectations in sports administration.

The federation is dedicated to nurturing talent from the grassroots level. Expanding elementary swimming programs is a top priority, as is encouraging participation in diverse disciplines such as Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming, and Speed Swimming. The ultimate goal is to build a vibrant and resilient aquatics community, where every athlete has the opportunity to excel.

The new board comprises experienced and passionate individuals, each committed to the federation’s mission of fostering a thriving, inclusive aquatic sports environment.
