Aruba Open Water Championships 2026

The 2026 Aruban Open Water Championships once again showcased the endurance, determination, and resilience of Aruba’s open water swimming community.

Held at Surfside Beach, the championships featured races ranging from 1 kilometer to the demanding 10-kilometer event. As the morning progressed, increasing winds created more challenging conditions, testing every athlete’s strength and strategy.

Despite the conditions, swimmers delivered outstanding performances across all distances.

The overall champions were:

  • 1K Male โ€“ Neymar Rasmijn
  • 1K Female โ€“ Vitali Inocencia
  • 3K Male โ€“ Inald Fernandes Perna
  • 3K Female โ€“ Laura Bonnevalle
  • 5K Male โ€“ Jayrick Winerdal
  • 5K Female โ€“ Britta Schwengle
  • 10K Male โ€“ Matthew Gobert

The Aruba Aquatics Federation was delighted to see strong participation from athletes of all ages, as well as the continued support of clubs, volunteers, officials, and spectators who helped make the championship another great success.

Open water swimming continues to grow in Aruba, providing athletes with exciting opportunities to challenge themselves beyond the pool while enjoying the island’s beautiful coastline.
