Aruba Aquatics Federation:New Leadership, New Vision, and a Successful Start to the Year!

Oranjestad, Aruba, January 18, 2025 – The board kicked off its tenure with the successful organization of the first aquatics competition of the year, “Competencia Dia di Betico,” held this past weekend at Piscina Olimpico Roly Bisslik. Despite the rain, the event proved to be an exhilarating and memorable celebration of talent, determination, and community spirit.

This competition, held in honor of Dia di Betico, showcased the dedication of Aruba’s aquatic athletes as they competed in speed swimming events. It also served as an opportunity for athletes to qualify for upcoming international competitions, including the CARIFTA Games in Trinidad & Tobago and the Junior Pan American Aquatics Championships in Medellín.

Athletes gave their all, striving to beat their personal bests and secure relay victories for their clubs. The energy was palpable, with every club represented and showcasing their best efforts, rain or shine.

A Vision for the Future

Under its new leadership, the Aruba Aquatics Federation is focused on nurturing talent from the grassroots level. Starting with elementary swimming programs, young athletes are encouraged to explore their passions across disciplines such as Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming, and Speed Swimming.

The federation envisions an aquatics community built on the values of integrity, transparency, and inclusivity. Additionally, it aims to set an example of good governance by adhering to the highest standards and fostering collaboration with its stakeholders.

The Aruba Aquatics Federation extends its deepest gratitude to the volunteers whose dedication and hard work make these events possible. Without their support, none of this would be achievable.
